As the title suggests, Dance of Life represents a statement on human existence view through the youthful, disabused eyes of the city dweller. The dance serves as a theme both in reality and as symbol.

Ms Brumm possesses a wide range of poetic talents: capable of light, wistful nostalgia, her poems reach heights of power when she becomes aroused by burning indignation or strong emotion. Then her stark realism creates harsh, shocking images in strident protest. She ranges from cynicism, resignation, muted sentiment and despair to light playfulness.

Beyond the innovative techniques, we find in this collection a genuine poetic inspiration coupled with technical virtuosity, making Dance of Life particularily rewarding reading from all points of view.
